DESCRIPTION:MaisVous êtes cordialement invités à une nouvelle séance du cycle de conférences SERA-IUF intitulé « Romanticism: Politics and Poetics ». Cette séance se tiendra le vendredi 14 juin de 17h à 19h à la Maison de la Recherche de la Faculté des Lettres\, Sorbonne Université\, 28 rue Serpente\, 75006 Paris. \nLe Professeur Richard Sha (American University) donnera une conférence intitulée : “Imagination and Science in Romanticism” \nProfessor Richard C. Sha is the author of three books: The Visual and Verbal Sketch in the Age of British Romanticism (Penn 1998)\, Perverse Romanticism: Aesthetics and Sexuality in Britain\, 1750-1850 (Johns Hopkins 2009) and Imagination and Science in Romanticism (Johns Hopkins 2018). The Imagination book won the 2018 Jean-Pierre Barricelli Prize\, given by the International Conference on Romanticism. His new book\, on the emotions and scientific modeling\, features chapters on Baillie\, Goethe\, Hume\, Leopardi\, and Wordsworth. He has won a Fulbright for 2020\, when he will be teaching at the University of Bologna\, and working on his Leopardi Chapter. Together with Joel Faflak\, he is the co-editor of Romanticism and the Emotions (Cambridge UP) and the forthcoming edited collection Romanticism and Consciousness 2.0\, a volume which seeks to update what we know about consciousness and its relation to Romanticism. \nCet événement est ouvert à toutes et tous.
